GUIDE FOR "ROOKIE" BUSINESSMEN: 5 Key Steps!

1. How to start?

Every businessman started their path with an idea. But that one million dollar idea is sometimes hard to find.  There are some tips on how to find it though. One way is to turn your hobby into your business. It is something you love anyway so why not earn from it right?
But I find the second way much more effective. Just go into the world and find what it needs. Explore, read, and listen to other people. Because people tend to complain about different things and if you listen carefully enough you will find  the problem and you will find your business idea!

2. Surround yourself with the right people!

Starting a business is hard. But if you are around like minded people, it is a lot easier. They think like you and they can give you a lot of support and encouragement. And it is important to have these people around you, because they are the ones who will raise you up when you fall down and will be there for you in the time of need.
And with the right people around you, you will get the right mentor. And the right mentor is everything. Nobody does it by himself, even Bill Gates had his mentor. Why stumble on every obstacle when there is someone who can teach you how to jump over. Good mentors have knowledge and experience and will help you grow as a person and as a entrepreneur!

3. Just do it!

For most of the people, this is the part where the story ends. They have a great idea and are around the right people. But when it comes to action, it is over. People start to find all sort of excuses. And it is all because they are afraid. They are afraid what will the neighbors say, what will my friends say and so on. It is sad how many people quit just because of fear.
But you see, FEAR can have two different meanings. You can »Forget everything and run« or »Face everything and rise«. It is on you to decide, but bear in mind one thing. You only live once so are you really gonna let fear get in the way of your dreams?

4. Read and learn!

Not long ago, I read an article where it was stated that CEOs read about 60 books per year. So are you any better then them? I guess not. So if you are not already a reader, it is time to start!
Reading is a powerful tool for learning and growing. It will give you better writing skills and your mind will be in constant motion. So let reading become your everyday routine and in time the results will show in a way you would never expect.

5. Don't give up!

This is logical right? But so many people do give up. They fail and say, »screw it, I'm done«. Why would you do that? Failing is a part of the journey. I failed, you will fail, every CEO failed at some point in their life. Building your dreams and your business is a process, and you can't know everything or do everything right the first time around. What you must do, is learn from your fails. Don't quit, learn and through your fails you will eventually succeed.
